My 12 year old daughter and I have started the day with
prayer. We will be reading poems and prayers to each other and observing
an hour of quiet meditation. Later this afternoon we are going to walk
our meditation path in the back yard and remember that peace and love
go hand in hand. If we seek to remember that all being seeks happiness
and freedom from suffering and that all beings have that God given right,
then it helps us to be un-judging of others and helps us to see people
with the eyes of Love and compassion.
One poem that we love to read and will be reading today is called
LOVE, by Poland's Queen Jadwiga (over 700 years old):
Nor can that endure which has not its foundations upon Love, For Love
alone diminishes not, but shines with its own light, makes an end of
discord, softens the fires of hate, restores PEACE in the world, brings
together the sundered, redresses wrong, Aids all and injures none. And
who so invokes its aid will find PEACE and safety, and have no fear
of future ill. Peace, Love and Light to all.
